Junior Instructor Question Leak after BCS

Over the past 12 years, at least 30 exams under the Public Service Commission (PSC) have been affected by question leaks. An internal group within the PSC has been behind these leaks, including the Junior Instructor recruitment exam held in March last year. A lot of evidence has come to light, revealing how this fraud happened.

People affected by the leaks sent complaints to the PSC, but no one took responsibility. However, recent arrests and investigations have uncovered detailed information about the leaks.

How the Junior Instructor Exam Questions Were Leaked

Sources say the Junior Instructor exam questions were leaked in various ways. Examinees had reported these leaks to journalists, providing evidence. Ashikuzzaman Noyon, an examinee, shared that in October 2021, a recruitment notice was issued for Junior Instructor positions at polytechnic institutes and technical schools. The exam took place on March 18 last year, but the night before, a Facebook account named Abid Shahriar Ahmed leaked the entire question paper. The leaked questions matched exactly with those given in the exam.

According to CID sources, WhatsApp conversations among group members revealed significant information about the question leaks, along with digital evidence. The members stored examinees’ user IDs and passwords, making it easy to find out who passed the exams. This helped them collect remaining payments as per their deals. Hundreds of photocopies of BCS exam admit cards were also found with them.

The Group’s Extensive Network

The group built a strong network both inside and outside the PSC, allowing them to breach secure systems, get exam questions, and sell them to candidates. They made written contracts with examinees, keeping their admit cards, IDs, and passwords to maintain control and prevent any escape from their influence.

Arrests and Judicial Actions

On Sunday, the CID arrested 17 people, including the dismissed driver of a former PSC chairman, Syed Abed Ali, from various places across the country on charges of leaking PSC exam questions.

Among the arrested, PSC Deputy Directors Abu Jafar and Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir, dispatch rider Khalilur Rahman, and office assistant Sajedul Islam were temporarily suspended by the authorities on Wednesday.

In the case filed at Paltan Police Station, Abed and five others gave confessional statements on Tuesday. The court then ordered all arrested individuals to be sent to jail.
