Syed Jamil Ahmed, a most popular theatre personality and the founding chairman of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Dhaka University, has been appointed as the Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued this decision in a notification today, Monday.
Syed Jamil Ahmed was born in 1955. In 1978, he graduated from the National School of Drama in Delhi, and in 1989, he completed his master’s degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Warwick in England. In 1997, he earned his doctorate degree from Dhaka University.
