Minimum 9 Year Age Required for Class 6 Registration; Dhaka Board

The registration process for Class 6 students under the Dhaka Board will begin on September 10. According to the registration guidelines, students must be at least nine years old to be eligible for registration in the sixth grade. The maximum age for registration is set at 15 years. This information was outlined in the official registration notice.

The registration process will run from September 10 to October 9, during which time students can fill out the online forms and pay the required fee. The registration fee per student is Tk 74.

As part of the new curriculum implementation, the registration process for sixth-grade students started last year, and this is the second year the process is being conducted.

The notice specifies that students must be at least nine years old and no older than 15 years to register for sixth grade. However, students with special needs can register until the age of 20. Registration can be done through the Dhaka Board’s website by logging in with the EIIN and password under the specified (OMES/eSIF) button. Institutions must then select “eSIF SIX,” fill in the necessary details, and print the Sonali Seba slip for fee submission. Photocopies of the forms cannot be submitted at the bank.

Once payment is cleared within 24 hours, institutions can proceed with filling out the eSIF for the registered students. School authorities can also print a new Sonali Seba slip and enter information for any students who were left out.

The registration notice further states that only students from recognized and approved educational institutions can register under their school’s name. Those studying in unapproved institutions must register through the nearest authorized secondary school or college. Institutions without approval cannot register students independently.

The board has instructed all schools to form a three-member committee comprising teachers to upload students’ registration data. Before the final submission, the committee members must verify the details against the admission forms and certificates. Any mistakes in the data will hold both the head of the institution and the committee members accountable.

For the 2024 registration, the total fee of Tk 74 is divided into a registration fee of Tk 50 and a Red Crescent fee of Tk 24.

Newly approved lower secondary schools, that have not previously participated in JSC exams, must obtain an EIIN certificate from BANBEIS, pay Tk 1,500 through Sonali Seba, and collect the login password from the board’s school section.

Institutions must ensure accurate entry of students’ parents’ names based on their original SSC or Primary Completion Certificates. If the parents do not hold an SSC certificate, the names must be entered according to their birth registration or national ID cards. Titles such as Mr., Mrs., Sri, or Sreemati cannot be used before students’ names. All educational institutions must have updated accreditation.

The responsibility for entering data correctly lies with the school authorities, and failure to complete registration within the given timeframe will hold the head of the institution accountable. Institutions without proper accreditation or updated recognition must address any registration issues that may arise later on.
